Due to the recent completion of the district ward boundary review, we are conducting a Polling District, Polling Place and Polling Station review. The review will look at the suitability of polling station venues and polling district boundaries in light of the new ward boundaries. We welcome comments and proposals from members, voters, and organisations within the district. Comments from voters with a disability or groups supporting people with disabilities are particularly welcome. The consultation paper detailing the new proposals and details of how to respond are available from https://www.malvernhills.gov.uk/voting-and-elections under the ‘Boundary Reviews’ section.
The consultation will close on 25 October 2022. The final recommendations made for the new ward boundaries by the Local Government Boundary Commission are available from https://www.lgbce.org.uk/all-reviews/west-midlands/worcestershire/malvern-hills Kind Regards, Katie Vass (AEA Cert.) Stanford Road, Great Witley, Worcestershire 21 September - 23 September Roadworks, Delays possible Traffic management: Traffic control (two-way signals) Responsibility for works: Openreach Current status: Planned work about to start Works reference: BC008WD9L8G6JC We offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family following the death of Her Majesty The Queen. Her Majesty was the embodiment of public service.
We know that many communities may wish to come together and observe the funeral of Her Majesty The Queen and so the BBC is providing local communities a TV Licence dispensation. The dispensation will allow any communal setting where TV is not usually watched, such as town halls, community centres and libraries across the UK, to screen the live programmes without needing to purchase a licence. We want to reach out to communities and those who are making arrangements to let them know that the dispensation is in place and therefore we welcome your support in making your service users aware. By law, if live television or BBC iPlayer is viewed on any premises, those premises must be covered by a valid TV Licence. However, in exceptional circumstances, the BBC can grant a dispensation for the temporary viewing of television, so long as the viewing is for the sole purpose of screening an event which is judged by the BBC to be of national importance. As the BBC Board has said, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was a unifying figure across generations, communities and borders, who represented the very best of our nation. We are grateful at the BBC to have witnessed, recorded and shared so many of the special moments in her long life and reign. She will always be remembered with the greatest affection and admiration. Great Witley and Hillhampton Parish Council wish to express their deep sadness on hearing of the death of our beloved Queen. We express our heartfelt condolences to the royal family and show support to our new King Charles III.
God Save the King! Citizen’s Advice (CA) is currently in receipt of some of the latest round of Household Support Fund in Malvern Hills District, to support our residents with the rising cost of living. Some of this funding is aimed specifically at pensioners (anyone who has reached state pension age by 30th September 2022) so we are keen to make our older residents aware of this fund and encourage them to get in touch with CA if they are in need of some additional support. Age UK and Act on Energy are also in receipt of some of this Household Support Fund to support pensioner age adults in the district.
Here is a link to a short video of CA promoting the fund on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/MalvernHillsDC/videos/3137023986626903/ For more information on the Household Support Fund please visit https://www.malvernhills.gov.uk/community/general-information-support If you work with pensioners, please do make them aware of this support. The fund is due to finish at the end of this month.
